1) The Demand for Welders in Ireland: A Golden Opportunity

Ireland’s industrial landscape

Ireland’s industrial landscape is booming, from major infrastructure projects to a thriving renewable energy sector.
Yet, this growth has created a significant challenge: a severe shortage of qualified, certified welders. Companies across the country are actively searching for skilled professionals who meet the rigorous European and international quality standards.

This skills gap means that a career in welding isn’t just a job—it’s a massive opportunity. A welding course in Europe is your ticket to a profession that is secure, well-compensated, and essential to the economy. By choosing to train abroad, you gain a competitive edge in the Irish job market, proving your commitment and expertise.

Sector Opportunities in Ireland:

– Construction & Engineering: Major infrastructure and commercial projects in Dublin, Cork, and Galway need certified welders for structural work and fabrication. You will primarily use Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) for robust, heavy-duty projects, and MIG/MAG (GMAW) for efficiency and speed in fabrication. TIG (GTAW) is also required for high-precision components. Certifications like ISO 9606-1 and ASME are essential for these roles.

– Energy Sector: Ireland’s growing wind energy and offshore industries require highly skilled welders for the construction and maintenance of turbines and platforms. This sector demands precision and durability, making TIG (GTAW) and SMAW the dominant processes. MIG/MAG (GMAW) is also widely used for structural assembly. Having both ISO 9606-1 and ASME certifications is highly valued for these specialized positions.

– Manufacturing & Shipbuilding: The demand for welders in the manufacturing and maritime sectors remains consistently high, requiring professionals with diverse skill sets. MIG/MAG (GMAW) is the standard for productivity in automotive and manufacturing assembly lines, while TIG (GTAW) is critical for high-precision work in industries like aerospace and food processing. The ISO 9606-1 certification is a fundamental requirement for employability in this sector.

By choosing Itaforma, you’re not just learning a skill; you’re joining a community of professionals who are in high demand both in Ireland and abroad.

2) Why a European and American Certification is Your Passport to Success

Recognized Certification is What Truly Opens Doors

In welding, practical skills are a must, but a recognized certification is what truly opens doors. Employers in Ireland, the UK, and across the globe need assurance that your work meets rigorous international standards.

Our welding course in Europe is designed to help you achieve the UNI EN ISO 9606-1 certification—the standard for welder qualification throughout Europe. More importantly, we also offer the American ASME certification. You can choose the certification that best suits your career goals or pursue both for maximum mobility and employability.

This dual certification is a true game-changer for Irish students. Given Ireland’s unique position—as a member of the EU with close ties to the UK and a strong historical and economic connection to the USA—holding both ISO and ASME certifications provides unparalleled career flexibility. You’re not only qualified for all projects within the European Union, but you also have a major advantage for roles in the post-Brexit UK market and for opportunities with American firms at home or abroad. This strategic advantage sets you apart from the competition, proving your adaptability and comprehensive skill set.

Why ITAFORMA is the Best for Irish Students: How UNI + ASME is a Game Changer

A Certified Welder’s Advantage:

It is crucial to emphasize that certification is no longer a simple option, but a legal requirement for many construction and engineering projects in Europe. Since the European standard EN ISO 9606-1 came into force in 2014, the qualification of welders has become a mandatory prerequisite to guarantee the quality and safety of welds. Obtaining a certification is therefore not just an asset, it is the sine qua non condition to be able to work legally on regulated sites.

– Higher Earnings: Certified coded welders can command significantly higher salaries because they are trusted to work on complex, high-stakes projects. Employers are willing to pay a premium for certified expertise, knowing that your skills meet the highest industry standards for safety and quality. This isn’t just about a job; it’s about a career with a clear path to significant earning potential.

– Career Mobility: Our dual certification acts as a professional passport. The ISO 9606-1 certification is your key to unlocking opportunities across the entire European Union, allowing you to work in high-paying countries like Germany, France, or the Nordic nations. Simultaneously, the ASME certification, a global benchmark, opens doors to positions in the United States and on international projects, giving you a competitive edge in any market.

– Guaranteed Employability: Having a certification proves to employers that you possess the skills to work on critical projects, from pressure pipes to structural steel. For companies, hiring a certified welder reduces risk and ensures compliance with international regulations. Your certification is a tangible guarantee of your competence, making you a more attractive candidate and giving employers confidence in your abilities from the moment they review your application.

Fantastic and superb! place to do welding course in Italy. If you come from foreign country and living in Italy, then you must read this story. 👍👍👍✌️

Hi guys .. I’m Sanka Bandara. I am very happy to announce this to young people like me who come from foreign countries and live in Italy.
I am Sri Lankan. I have been in Italy for about 5 months and live in Milan.

After I came to Italy, I decided to do a TIG welding course in Italy. But without the Italian language, it is very difficult to do the course and find a job in Italy. Unfortunately, I saw some video clips about that school on Facebook. That school is SCUOLA DI SALDATURA ITAFORMA. It is located in the city of Catania. Teaching in the school is done not only in Italian but also in English and has highly knowledgeable teachers. I also need to tell special things about them.

They teach easier methods than I thought and it was very easy to learn.

However, they found me a job within two weeks of finishing the TIG course. I couldn't believe it, because I don't speak Italian yet. I am happy to say that I am a student of this school. The two most memorable characters in this school are the Manager Ludevico and my Teacher Marco. This is the school that changed my life in a short time when I came to Italy.

I am very happy to say that if you get your education from this school, you can definitely get a job. It is also a specialty to find job sites according to the city you want. It’s 100% sure. I thank my school a thousand times. 🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️

Highly recommended school 👍👍👍

ITAFORMA WELDING SCHOOL - Highly qualified and professional instructors, a company that is constantly growing and shows great expertise and passion in every detail.

The results speak for themselves: during my six-week course, I didn’t meet a single student who wasn’t well-prepared for the final exam.

The accommodation is functional, located in a quiet area near the welding workshops, perfect for those focused on their training.

It’s certainly not a vacation, but it provides everything you need to complete the course comfortably. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get certified and quickly enter the workforce.

I came from Argentina. I went to the Itaforma school to learn how to weld from scratch. I'd never welded before. I was interested in pipe welding.

I learned to weld with TIG and electrode, both carbon and stainless steel. I also took courses in technical design reading, carroponte, mule, and structural assembly. I managed to obtain the certificates (Patentino).

While I was practicing, a few days before the exam, a company from Brescia came looking for pipe welders. I practically did the interview and test at the school for that company. I was selected and hired immediately after finishing the course.

I'm very happy with the experience and the decision I made. Very happy with the teacher I got and the school I chose.

Having partaken in the intensive electrode welding course in early October, I was positively surprised by the familiar atmosphere on campus and the depth of the course. This, combined with the knowledgeable, very experienced and, at all times, helpful instructors and staff, made my stay a very pleasant and deeply educational one!

In my opinion, ITAFORMA Welding School is an all-around outstanding option for those truly dedicated to becoming qualified welders!

It has been a tremendous training experience!

I started from scratch with MIG, MAG, and TIG welding; thanks to the instructors and a great effort, I can say that I have acquired excellent preparation to enter the world of work. The certificates are absolutely a guarantee for my future career.

In fact, ITAFORMA has put me in contact with several companies, and I am starting with my first work experience, through which I can confirm that it is absolutely worth becoming an Itaformer welder.
In short, it's an excellent choice for those just arriving, as after completing the course, they also assist with job searches.

I'm pleased to have taken the welding course with Itaforma - Campus Sicília. All the instructors have excellent knowledge of the various types of welding, unlimited materials are available, and I left qualified to take the exams that qualify us to weld here in Italy (the assessment is conducted by a regulatory body, so you really need to learn).

The package I purchased included meals, PPE (boots, mask, apron, gloves, and uniform). In addition, they also included accommodations and transportation to and from the airport, as well as taking us to the grocery store and pharmacy when necessary.

In short, it's an excellent choice for those just arriving, as after completing the course, they also assist with job searches.

Best decision I ever made: a complete TIG, electrode, and MIG MAG course with a certificate.

The week after I finished, I received 12 job offers in less than 20 days and already had an employment contract. Thank you to everyone at Itaforma.
